Release of Liability, Waiver of Claims, Assumption of Risks, and Indemnity Agreement

PLEASE READ CAREFULLY BEFORE SIGNING. THIS IS A LEGAL DOCUMENT AND AFFECTS YOUR LEGAL RIGHTS.

In consideration of being allowed to participate in any way in the BB Backyard Ultra and related events and activities, the undersigned acknowledges, appreciates, and agrees to the following:

1. Assumption of Risk:

  I acknowledge that running and participating in the BB Backyard Ultra, taking place on October 4-5, 2025, at the Kivi Park, involves inherent risks, including but not limited to, falls, contact with other participants, the effects of the weather, including high heat and/or humidity, cold weather, and the conditions of the trails. I understand that these risks may result in serious injury, illness, or even death, and I voluntarily assume all such risks, both known and unknown, even if arising from the negligence of the releases or others.

2. Release of Liability:

  I, for myself and on behalf of my heirs, assigns, personal representatives, and next of kin, hereby release, indemnify, and hold harmless the event directors, officials, volunteers, sponsors, and all other entities and individuals involved in organizing and running the BB Backyard Ultra, including but not limited to the organizers, employees, and volunteers, from any and all claims, demands, losses, and liability arising out of or related to any injury, disability, death, or loss or damage to person or property that I may suffer, whether arising from the negligence of the releasees or otherwise, to the fullest extent permitted by law.

3. Medical Treatment:

  I consent to receive medical treatment that may be deemed advisable in the event of injury, accident, and/or illness during this event.

4. Photo and Media Release:

  I grant permission to the organizers to use my photograph, video, or other media recording of me, taken during my participation in the event, for any legitimate purpose without compensation.

5. Compliance with Rules:

  I agree to abide by all the rules and instructions of the BB Backyard Ultra and acknowledge that the event directors have the authority to remove me from the event if I fail to comply with these rules or if they determine that my continued participation poses a risk to myself or others.

I have read this release of liability and assumption of risk agreement, fully understand its terms, and understand that I have given up substantial rights by signing it. I sign it freely and voluntarily without any inducement.

By signing this document, you acknowledge that you have read and understand the terms and conditions of this release and that you agree to be bound by them.
