FAQs

  • Will there be aid stations?

There are no formal aid stations on the course. Runners will come back to a central location on every lap where their crew can support them. There will be a dedicated location for crew to support near the start line, or runners can go to their crew tent for support. But be sure to return to the corral for the next yard.

  • Can I defer my registration?

We do not currently offer deferrals.

  • Can I get a refund?

If you can’t participate, we’ll be happy to provide a refund. So long as we have a waiting list and we can fill your spot, we will provide a 100% refund. Otherwise, our regular refund policy is 75% before August 16, 50% after August 16. Reach us at bbbackyardultra@gmail.com

  • Can I sell my spot?

Demand to be a part of the BBBU has been outstanding. As a result, we have a pretty extensive waiting list. To be fair to those people, we will refund  your registration fee and give your spot to the next person in line. Reach us at bbbackyardultra@gmail.com

  • Will you post the course?

Absolutely! We don’t have this year’s route 100% ironed out yet, but we’ll share an update when it’s ready. Check out last year’s course here

  • Are crew allowed?

We would expect nothing less. This is a crazy adventure, you will need all the help you can get. Rest assured, crews are welcome and we will take good care of them.

  • Is this a Big's qualifier?

Yes. We are a sanctioned event. But let’s be clear! This will ALWAYS be a community event targeted to whackos who just want to have a good time. That said, we have a few whackos who are seeking to collect points in the hopes of qualifying for a national team or of making it to Big’s one day. We fully support them and welcome everyone. But it is not our goal to make this an event that caters to the elite. If some show up, we will welcome them with open arms.

  • Is camping allowed on site?

Technically, camping is not allowed on site. The nature of this event is such that it will run through the night, crew and runners are welcome to set up napping amenities in their tents. But there are a number of great hotels within a 10-minute drive if you need proper facilities.

The Travelway Inn has set aside a block of rooms for our BBs — see below for details.

  • I am running with friends, can I share a tent?

Absolutely! In fact, we encourage it. Tent space will be at a premium this year. And don’t forget, we’ll also have a massive 20 x 40 common tent for people to share.
